1.1 All participants and mentors have to provide the necessary personal and contact information.
1.2 All team participants have to be enrolled in their respective institutions participating in the competition.
1.3 Employees of organisers, sponsors and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest.
1.4 There is no limit to the number of entries from each school.
1.5 Information or data collected from the entrant is subject to the Personal Data Protection Policy.
1.6 Singapore Computer Society and the Splash Awards 2017 Committee will not entertain any late submissions, unless the submission deadline has been amended.
1.7 Failure to adhere to the above will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
1.8 By entering this contest, the mentors and participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by the contest rules and terms and conditions of this contest. This is an irrevocable condition of entry.
2. Content of Entries
2.1 All teams must ensure that all entries submitted are original, unpublished works which have been created by the participant(s) and that the entry does not infringe any copyright or any other intellectual property rights of any third party.
2.2 Each team or individual is only allowed to submit 1 entry in this competition.
2.3 No amendments or changes can be made to the entries after they have been submitted.
2.4 Singapore Computer Society, the sponsors, and the judging panel reserve the right, to immediately disqualify any entry deemed obscene, defamatory, unlawful or otherwise inappropriate in nature or content in the context of Singapore.
2.5 Singapore Computer Society shall not be liable for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post, or due to computer error in transit.
2.6 All entries must be made by the Closing Date and in the manner set out in the Competition Terms. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
3. Intellectual Property Rights
3.1 All participants will own the Intellectual Property rights of their respective submitted projects.
3.2 Singapore Computer Society and the sponsors shall have the rights to use any or all of the materials submitted for publicity purposes without giving any of the participants any remuneration or royalties in any form whatsoever.
3.3 Singapore Computer Society and the sponsors shall credit the owners of any submitted Intellectual Property that is featured in their publicity materials.
3.4 Singapore Computer Society and sponsors shall also have the right to co-develop and market the winning solution with the owners of the Intellectual Property.
3.5 The license granted in clauses 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 shall include the license to convert the aforementioned materials into machine-readable form and to store them electronically on digital libraries, network configurations or other similar arrangements accessible for search, selection, and shall only be for all educational uses or for non-commercial purposes. It shall also include the making of such copies as it is necessary for backup and disaster recovery purposes.
3.6 There will be discussion regarding usage, co-development and co-ownership of any Intellectual property after the Splash Awards Ceremony for winning projects only.
