Charlie Soh shared with us about "iWealth@sg: A Personal Finance & Financial Literacy FinTech Start-up."
He spoke about the Digital Economy, how FinTech had affected Singapore as a financial centre, the big trend in information technology affecting the financial industry, what was personal finance and financial literacy, and the iWealth app.
Here's a little info on our speaker.
Charlie is a Director of Equity Sales (Asia) with UOB Kay Hian Private Limited and is responsible for equity sales to high net worth individuals, corporate clients and boutique funds. He is the author of two books entitled Online Stock Investment: Five Simple Steps To Profit and Profit From Online Stock Investment published by McGraw-Hill. Before joining UOB Kay Hian, he was a software manager at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he was engaged in software development for investment portfolio management. He was also previously a Senior Tutor at the National University of Singapore, where he taught courses and conducted research in Information Technology. Charlie holds a Master Degree in Information Science from the National University of Singapore, and Computer Science and Economics degrees from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
Charlie is also a sponsor of the IS 480 projects at the School of Information Systems at Singapore Management University (SMU) where he guided the SMU students to develop financial technology software applications.
