James joined NCS in November 2010 as the company’s CIO. His core duties include leading the IT function in formulating strategic directions and policies that are aligned with the company’s business goals. With over 30 years of IT experience, James has developed skills in the management of IT services and business solutions and in the provision of consultancy and project management services in various software solutions and application systems across the Asia Pacific region.

 

Prior to joining NCS, he was CIO of YCH Group and COO of its IT subsidiary, Y3 Technologies, where he was responsible for the Group and its subsidiaries’ IT strategies and performance. He also held senior management roles at Cincom Systems, (an ERP application software vendor), ObTech Asia Pacific, an NEC Corp subsidiary focusing on IT consultancy and services and Viewlocity Asia Pacific, a Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution vendor.

 

James’ innovative ICT projects have won several regional and national ICT Awards including 2 IDA National Infocomm Awards (2004 Merit and 2008), ZDNetAsia Smart 50, CIO Honouree (2005, 2009 & 2010) and emerge as top winners for both CIO Asia Awards 2010 and IDC Enterprise Innovation Awards 2010.

 

He contributes actively to the industry as IT Management Association (ITMA) Council’s Vice President and has served various Council Member roles on IDA’s RFID Alliance Steering Committee (2004-2007) & Singapore IT Federation (SiTF) Council.

 

He is a member of Singapore Management University’s SIS Board of Advisors and the Advisory Board of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Singapore. He is also on the Singapore Logistics Association’s Technology/e-Logistics SubCommittee and he served as the Deputy Chairman on the Singapore eSCM Council from 2002 to 2004, EDB’s Industry User Council for Transportation & Logistics from 2002 to 2005, and a Member of Spring Singpaore’s Standardisation Technical Committee – Supply Chain Management & ITSC’s (IT Standards Council) Cloud Computing Taskforce for Cloud Services and Security Standards.
